Mandya, Feb 10: Sohan Balram, son of an entrepreneur based in Somanahalli in Maddur taluk in the district could not believe that lady luck would have smiled at him in such a beautiful way so fast. Because, the lottery ticket he had bought matter of factly, has won him the top prize of one crore rupees!

Sohan had visited Kerala along with family to attend the marriage of a friend from Kerala. On the way back, the group visited Sohan's Facebook friend, Paravannur Kaipalakkal Prabhakaran, who works in a shop selling lottery tickets at Puthanathani village. Sohan and another from his group had casually bought two Bhagyamitra lottery tickets by paying Rs 100 apiece. For the first time in his life, Sohan Balram has won a lottery.

As luck would have it, Sohan's Kerala visit proved utterly auspicious as the ticket he had bought has won the bumper prize of one crore rupees. When the result came at around 3 pm on Sunday, the family was on its way back to Mandya from Kerala. He was informed about the result by Prabhakaran. The family returned to Puthanathani where Manikantan, owner of the lottery agency, offered sweets to them.

Bhagyamitra lottery of Kerala government carried the bumper prize of one crore rupees each to five people and Sohan Balram is one among the five lucky winners. The draw is held onk the first Sunday of every month. Second prize is ten lac rupees. The third prize of two lac rupees is given to eight people. In addition there are numerous smaller prizes, it is learnt.

    My heartiest congratulations to Sohan on winning Rs 1 crore in the Kerala State lottery. He should thank God but at the same time make the best use of the money. Please do not go for any scams which is common all over.
