Puttur, Feb 10: Pragathi Speciality Hospital in association with KMC Hospital Mangaluru, on February 10 announced the launch of Emergency Medical Services, here.

KMC Hospital, Mangaluru, a tertiary care hospital backed with the best clinicians and medical team, state-of-the-art facilities, and high-end diagnostic capabilities, will now extend emergency medicine services at Pragathi Specialty Hospital, Puttur.

The inauguration of the new center was done by Sanjeeva Matandoor, MLA of Puttur. The guests of honor for the occasion were Jeevandhar Jain, president of Puttur Nagarsabha; Dr U P Shivananda, editor in chief - Suddi Bidugade, Puttur; Rtn M Ranganath Bhat, district governor of RI district 3181. Also present at the occasion were Dr U Sripathi Rao, medical director of Pragathi Specialty Hospital Puttur; Dr Anand Venugopal, regional chief clinical services of KMC Hospital Mangaluru and Saghir Siddiqui regional chief operating officer of KMC Hospital Mangaluru.

Dr Jeedhu Radhakrishnan, head of the emergency medicine department of KMC Hospital Mangaluru stated, “We have seen a huge number of cases that require immediate emergency care with super specialty intervention, but due to lack of knowledge of what to do or where to go, these patients waste their precious time leading to the deterioration of their health with further complications in their condition or at times untimely death. Proper emergency care and stabilization will lead to structured treatment care and protocol, whether it is to treat them locally or if they would require higher treatment/surgery to route them accordingly to tertiary care hospital. This will save time and hence help save a life.”

Dr U Sripathi Rao stated, “Our hospital has served the people of Puttur for over 18 years. It is our perseverance to provide the utmost care to every patient coming to our hospital.
