Bengaluru, Feb 14: Classes for primary school students have already started in most of the government schools of the state even before receiving official instructions from the government. In addition, exams are also being conducted in the open book model.

In rural areas of most of the districts, offline classes are being conducted, and parents have started sending their wards to school. Though the classes are conducted in safe environment, the government has not given the go-ahead for the same.

A few months ago a discussion was held with regard to holding an open book examination. Now the government schools have implemented the same. School teachers are giving question paper and answer sheets to the students and are instructing them to get the answers written at home by looking at the text books and bringing the same back to school.

According to the information provided by the head teacher of a government school, based on the open book performance of the student, his or her ability to study will be assessed.

The teachers have also urged the government to provide opportunity to conduct Vidyagama classes, for students of first to fifth grade, in the campus of the school itself instead of some campus in the village, temple or religious centers.
