Mangaluru, Feb 17: Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr B M Hegde on Wednesday February 17 inaugurated 'Vedamarogya Ayurveda Health Centre', the new branch of Vedamarogya Ayurveda Hospital at Kadri Kambala road here.
Addressing the gathering, Dr B M Hegde said, "It is a privilege to inaugurate Vedamarogya Ayurveda Health Centre dedicated to the people of Mangaluru. The advantage of Ayurveda medicine is that it has no side effects and helps maintain a good system. We need to encourage Ayurveda medicine and need more Ayurveda health centres in the district. I urge Dr Sachin Nadka to continue his good works through this Ayurveda health centre."
Mayor Diwakar Pandeshwar said, "Vedamarogya has been providing good treatment to its clients. There are several examples of people visiting this centre, being cured of their diseases and going back happy. We need to give more importance to Ayurveda medicine which has no side effects, rather than English medicine."
Principal of KVG Ayurveda College, Sullia, Dr Leeladhar D V said, "Ayurveda health centre is like a service centre which is more effective. We should keep consulting doctors once in a while as we forget to keep track of our health due to our work schedule, and end up contracting diseases."
The dignitaries also inaugurated therapy room, pharmacy, consultation room, OPD and Yoga classes.
Vedamarogya offers a variety of classical Ayurveda therapies, patient consultation, Ayurveda medicines and other health care products, Ayurveda wellness and preventing modalities, swarnaprashana in Pushya nakshatra days, food and nutritional counselling, psychological counselling, yoga and pranayama classes.

Managing director of Vedamarogya Ayurveda hospital Dr Sachin Nadka welcomed the gathering and Soujanya Hegde compered the programme.
Corporator Sudheer Shetty and managing director of Vedamarogya Ayurveda hospital Dr Anusha Nadka was also present.
