Some years back I had seen a TV News item that one ATM of SBI in Bengaluru was dispensing cash even if there was no balance in that account! On 18th January 2021 in Times of India Bengaluru edition there was a news item that a Colombian woman had used a device to rig a State Bank Cash Deposit Machine to such an extent that she could take out Rs. One Lakh by entering Rs.1,000/- as withdrawal amount (from someone else's account!). I was just wondering if SBI ATMs are more vulnerable than others. This is something which needs investigation thoroughly.

before inserting the card... feel the card slot above and below to look for any extra fittings... before typing the PIN, do the same thing to make sure there is no camera or any other gadget fitted to record key strokes... keep changing your ATM pin periodically.... have two accounts one with ATM card and another without being linked to ATM card... keep small balance in the account with ATM card... refill this account periodically with small amounts from the account which does not have ATM card...

I went inside told an officer about... she was least bothered and busy in gossipping with a lady customer... she told me to talk to an attender in this matter... if you have used this ATM, pls change your PIN immediately...

Very much so, Anand. Tragic is that the entire Police Force of Mangalore is occupied to protect one CM from the North, visiting Karnataka. At such times it's obvious for the skillful gangs to take advantage of the freedom.
