Mumbai: Miscreants attack transgender in broad daylight, dies

Mumbai, Feb 25: A transgender person was killed in broad daylight on the streets at Goregaon (W) on Wednesday afternoon, February 24. A police investigation is launched to nab the culprits. The Bandur Nagar police, who are investigating the case say that there are at least three persons involved in the murder.

The victim, Suresh Mastud (38) was working as an office-bearer in a non-profit, Dhadak Kinnar Mumbai Association.

On Wednesday, Mastud was said to have scheduled a meeting with members of another organization. After attending the meeting Mastud left at around 3.30 pm. Three men accosted him and attacked him with a chopper and a hammer at Link Road near Bhagar Singh Nagar slum. The accused fled the spot. Mastud was rushed to the hospital by the police, however, he was declared dead.
