Mangaluru: Police detain thief who snatched gold chain from woman fetching firewood

Mangaluru, Mar 2: Konaje station police have taken into custody a thief who had fled after snatching away a gold chain from the neck of a woman fetching firewood near her house.

The suspect is identified as Panela resident Irshad (23). He had snatched the chain from the neck of Boliar resident Shambhavi when she was fetching firewood near her residence.

Irshad was a rape accused. He was arrested for trying to rape a girl employed in a petrol pump when she was returning home from work in January. He was released on bail a week ago.
