Bantwal, Mar 4: MLA U Rajesh Naik on Wednesday laid foundation for 190 meters long road works worth Rs two crore from B C Road to Kaikunje.
Concrete will be laid to a width of 10 meters to 11 meters. Concrete drains will be constructed on both the sides of the road. High mast lights will be erected.
Speaking to reporters, he said that the uplifting work of B C Road was delayed due to coronavirus. Local municipal council member A Govinda Prabhu conducted groundbreaking. Buda president B Devadas Shetty, former MLA K Padmanabha Kothari, district panchayat member Kamalakshi Poojary, Tungappa Bangera, Lena Britto, BJP’s drainage board director Sulochana G K Bhat, Devappa Poojary, Dombaya Arala, Ravish Shetty Karkala, Prakash Anchan, Ramadas Bantwal, Sudarshan Baja, Ramanath Rai, Machendra Salian, Ramesh Salian, Bharathi Chouta, Nalini B Shetty, Keshava Daipala, Hariprasad, Yashodhara Karbettu, Pramod Ajjibettu, Seetarama Poojary, municipal council engineer Dominic D’ Mello, PWD assistant engineer Amrath Kumar and other officials were present.
Priest Mahesh Bhat conducted the religious rituals.
