Moodbidri: Anganwadi workers help road users by painting speed bump

Daijiworld Media Network - Moodbidri (SP)

Moodbidri, Mar 10: It is common for organizations to celebrate International Women's Day by organizing meetings, functions, felicitations etc. The Anganwadi workers attached to Pucherikatte Anganwadi in Subhas Nagar here made the International Women's Day this year memorable by painting the road hump yellow.

A road passes near the Anganwadi centre at Pucherikatte. A road hump has been created there to make sure that the vehicles slow down there, but it had not been painted to attract the vehicle drivers' attention in advance.

Therefore, accidents were happening there often. Noticing this, Anganwadi worker, Vijaya, by spending her own money and with the support of assistants, Rajashree and  Jalaja Devadiga, painted the hump yellow on Monday. The locals have appreciated the Anganwadi workers for doing something that is extremely necessary and helpful.

I salute theese people for saving the life of people by spending their own money. This is Government's job.One day I day I was riding my Bike near pompeii college there were no speed breakers. The next day suddenly speed breakers pop up but no any warning sign no any paint markings this means road authority wants to kill the people. This is just basic road rule.well done Moodbidri people...

It is a must when a hump is made by the roads contractor. Sadly the contractor and the corrupt certifying this work never care for the drivers and their safety. Thanks to these anganawadi workers who felt the necessity, which Government workers failed to implement.

My big salute to Anganwadi workers for their tremendous job of painting speed bumps. It is for the safety of the of the drivers and pedestrians. In fact, all speed bumps should be painted. It is the duty of the municipality to do it.

If common man and public do such critical jobs then what is the responsibility of elected bodies, Municipality, Corporation, MLA's etc. ? In the future these irresponsible people may take advantage and neglect their duties at the cost of public safety.
