'ED officials compelled me to name CM Pinarayi Vijayan': Gold smuggling case accused

Kochi, Mar 12: An accused in gold smuggling case, Sandeep Nair, in a letter addressed to Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court has claimed that Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials threatened him to name chief minister (CM) Pinarayi Vijayan. However, ED officials consider it as tactics of the accused to get bail in the case and said stated that they will examine the allegations.

A three-page letter written by Sandeep came out on Friday.

Sandeep, who is in jail after being sentenced under COFEPOSA act, in his letter, also claimed that ED officials threatened him to name two ministers and the son of an influential person along with CM Vijayan in the case. He claimed that the officials offered him help to get bail and other matters if he acts as per their demand. 

It may be recalled, two women police officials on guard duty at ED office in Kochi, had earlier revealed that the central agency compelled the gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh to name CM Vijayan.

    Shameful and Disgusting state of affairs with the Central Agencies if the statement of the the accused is true and of the earlier report of police women on guard duty at the ED office. Who will Trust these Central Agencies. High time all these Central Agencies merge with the BJP party. The Country is painfully aware of how the Central Agencies are being misused to target opposition Leaders and Parties. This is the Ugly face of Modi's Maan Ki Baat and his innocent pretensions behind TV cameras in his repeated addresses to the Nation.Central Government Tax and Enforcement Agencies like Income Tax Dept and Enforcement Directorate have rarely raided BJP Leaders over the last six years. It will be nice to know through the media if any BJP leader has been issued any IT or ED Notice during the last six years. ED or IT departments would have known that large sums of money were transacted for luring of MLAs at the time of toppling of non-BJP governments but have turned a blind eye. The BJP has nothing to showcase of their six years of misrule except for Disaster on all fronts. So recourse to such questionable means of misusing central agencies to target opposition parties and their leaders and win elections through the back door.

    Chor kothwaal ko Dantae. Amount of gold is getting smuggled to Kerala beyond imagination under the nose of politicians. Best thing is to raid all politicians and NRi including some jewellres who have branches in gulf countries. Kerala will be called gold state.

    Off late shah and Modi has invaded into cricket board with the help of Jay Shah , all T20 against England , IPL play off , IPL finals will happen in Ahmedabad Modi stadium .Economic benefits will go to the state with these events . Is there any shame left in other BJP ruled states and its supporters in other states . Bullet train , Sardar statue , sea planes , Defense manufacture etc etc all went to Gujarat.
