Udupi, Mar 13: The students of Sharada Residential School, Kunjibettu participated in an online virtual workshop on space and satellite education, organised by the Igniting Dreams of Young Minds Foundation (IDYM) held on Saturday March 13 at the school auditorium.

IDYM Foundation is a platform to promote space and satellite education among the student community all around the world.

Engineer Ratnesh Mishra, a young scientist, president of IDYM, shared his experiences on building the first satellite 'Pratham' that had launched in 2016, the importance of space technology, the basic details of satellites.

In his addressal he said, "Space does not give a second chance and it is a crucial time. One should live in a dream, build their own dream and put in their sincere effort to make it real."

Students interacted with Ratnesh Mishra and asked questions regarding building satellites. Most of them showed interest over using solar energy for the satellite.

Anup Badiger questioned if there is there any alternative energy to the satellite to which Mishra gave him a convincing answer.

Samarth S Reddy, Thaniska Bhasme, Rachitha V B shared their experiences of the NASA station they visited in 2018.

Vidyavantha Acharya, director of Sharada Residential School asked how students could get involved, if they go for this project in school, what will be the cost of the entire project, what are the government regulations and formalities to launching an artificial satellite.

Dr Jacqueline Mahadik, the brand ambassador of IDYM Maharashtra, Engineer Anurag Behara, facilitator, NASA Human Rover Challenge team and other school students joined in the meeting.

Dr Ramachandran, the principal of Sharada Residential School expressed the future vision of the construction lab for the students.

Deenul Asmi, the brand ambassador of IDYM welcomed everyone to the virtual meeting.
