First ‘Beary Tulu Sangama’ to Be Held on Jul 17

‘Beary Tulu Sangama’, the first ever cultural programme of the Beary community and Tulu natives of undivided Dakshina Kannada district will be held at Dr Vishweshwarayya Auditorium of Karnataka Sangh, Matunga (West), at 10.00 am on Saturday July 17. 

It will be held under the aegis of the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy-Mangalore, metro based Shafi Welfare Association, and Mulund Friends.

Metro-based Billavar Association president Jaya C Suvarna will inaugurate the first ever Beary Tulu Sangama here at 10.00 am on Saturday.
 
Virar Shankar Shetty, president, Karnataka Sangh of Virar – Nallasopara, will preside over the programme.
 
Chandrashekar Palettady, editor, Kannada daily ‘Karnataka Malla,’ published from the metro, Karnataka Sangh vice-president Bharat Kumar Polipu, and entrepreneur Subash Alva will be the chief guests.
 
The cultural extravaganza will be held at 11.00 am on Saturday jointly by the artistes of Sirajul Hooda Daf Samiti – Mangalore and the metro-based Kala Souraba.
 
A multi-lingual poets’ session will be held at 11.30 am on Saturday, which will be attended by poets from Beary, Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, Marathi, and Hindi including Kodu Bhoja Shetty, Shimantoor Chandrahas Suvarna, Prof Sitaram R Shetty, Shubhada Katavkar, Mohammed Kulai, Rons Bantwal, Akshata Deshpande, and Hussain Katipalla. 
 
Dr Sunitha M Shetty will moderate the poets’ session, along with Padmanabha Sasihitlu and group.
 
Sirajul Hooda Daf Samiti – Mangalore and Mulund Kala Vedike will jointly stage a cultural extravaganza at 2.00 pm on Saturday.
 
A seminar on the relations of Beary – Tulu in the metro will be held at 2.30 pm on Saturday, and will be moderated by Mumbai High Court lawyer and Shafi Welfare Association president Moideen Mundkoor.
 
Mangalore-based lawyer B A Mohammed will present his paper at the seminar attended by Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy members Abdul Aziz Baikampady, Suleiman Kulavoor, and Mulund Friends president Suresh Shetty Yeyyady. 
 
A cultural programme will be held at 3.30 pm on Saturday by the artistes of Sirajul Hooda Daf Samiti and Stree Shakti drama troupe. 
 
‘Sahana’, Tulu Beary movie, will be screened at 4.00 pm on Saturday.
 
The concluding ceremony of the Sangama will be held at 6.00 pm on Saturday. 
 
Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy president B Abdul Rehman will preside over the programme.
 
Union railway minister K H Muniyappa, and Karnataka state Dakshina Kannada (DK) district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar will be the chief guests on the occasion.
 
Karnataka former education minister B A Moideen, DK District Congress Committee (DCC) minority unit president Moideen Bava, metro-based Bunts Sangh president Aikala Harish Shetty, Aldel Education Trust and Model Co-operative Bank chairman Albert W D’Souza, BSKB Association president Dr Suresh S Rao, Bombay Bunts Sangh president Jayant K Shetty, Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti founder president Tonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, Devadiga Sangh former president Dharmapal U Devadiga, Bhandary Seva Sangh president Balakrishna P Bhandary, Kulala Sangh president P K Salian, and Thiya Samaj president Chandrashekar Belchada will be the guests of honour.
 
Karnataka Sangh new president Dr G D Joshi, entrepreneur Shirva Mohammed Hassan Haji, Ahmed Mahin Bava Haji, Mami–Marmal, the first ever Beary movie producer B S Gangadar, Nratya Vidyalaya director Shailaja Madhusudan, B K Tara Rao, Bunts Sangh Bellary president Suresh Shetty, Rons Bantwal, and Kerala Muslim Jamat vice-president Mohammed Para will be felicitated on the occasion.
 
‘Nratyotsav’, a dance extravaganza, will be held at 7.30 pm on Saturday as part of the entertainment programme.
