Bengaluru: Amid rising cases, all eyes on CM-led crucial meet on tackling corona

Bengaluru, Mar 14: State government has cautioned public to take precautions in the wake of rise in the cases of Covid-19 infections in Karnataka. In addition, the government is mulling to take stringent action to prevent the spread of infection. An imporant meeting will be held in this connection under the leadership of chief minister Yediyurappa on Monday March 15 to assess the situation and chalk out an action plan.

Covid experts and officials of health department will have a meeting with the chief minister at Vidhana Soudha at 5 pm on Monday. It is said that stringent rules will be implemented to control spread if Covid.

At present six districts of the state have reported rise in cases of coronavirus infections. In spite of numerous actions, the disease is far from being eliminated. Health minister Dr Sudhakar had already appealed to the chief minister to hold a meeting on taking stricter steps to prevent its spread. The minister had also conveyed the negligence of the public with regard to the steps to be followed to control coronavirus.

There is every possibility that the infections may increase in the coming days. Technical experts have also given warning about the second wave. Opinion will be heard in the wake of this situation. chief minister will gather information and opinion from officials of health department and technical experts. So the meeting that is going to take place on Monday is very important.

The union government has also expressed concern over the increase of coronavirus cases in Karnataka. BJP national president J P Nadda has also sent strict message in this regard. The union government has asked chief minister Yediyurappa to take immediate precautions.

Home minister Bommai said that based on the meeting with chief minister on Monday, action will be taken. So far any kind of curfew or night curfew is not discussed with him.

It is said that there is a possibility of implementing lockdown again in the state. chief minister Yediyurappa said that so far there is no plan of implementing lockdown. However, if the public does not follow govaernment rule then lockdown is inevitable.

Yediyurappa said, "People should cooperate if lockdown should not be implemented. Covid pandemic second wave is going out of hand now. If people wish that all business has to be carried out without implementing lockdown, then they have to cooperate. We will specify the number of people for marriage functions. I have already discussed this matter with chief secretary. I have also got suggestions from him. We will take final decision on this on Monday."

    This Pandemic Scare could have been ended last year in March itself by not following Chinese method of containment rather than 100 years of WHO protocols. Those countries that defied the present unscientific mandates are doing fine now & last year too despite WHO warning against their actions. Those countries that followed them with Mask, social distancing & lock downs are worst sufferers then & will be in future as well as data of all those countries followed them proves they had failed then & bound to fail in future as well. Stop RTPCR Pandemic of testing healthy people & finding false positives. Stop publicizing daily counts to keep people scared. These measure will end the hoax which doesn't qualify to be a pandemic in first place. If other tests for Ebola, Dengue & Flu are conducted then they too will show false positives as nobody knows out of 120000 viruses which have infected people or were in them before their body overwhelmed them without their own knowledge. With recovery rate of 99.997% this disease scare isn't what it is made out to be by vested interests to make hay at the expense of our country, its economy & peoples Freedom to further their game plan.

    no one asked the Govt to relax all restrictions on numbers at gatherings, theatres/malls/gyms. what is the use of crying now? and hardly any usage of masks in public including the cops and politicians all across the state. blaming inter-state travel as the cause is a lazy person's viewpoint - there is enough of virus lurking within the state casuing the resurgence. the CM himself does not know the proper way to use a mask!!!

    Vishnu, You are very right in your opinion! They should not have opened places of mass congregation & also pubs, theatres etc. It was well established that a second wave is lurking! Now what's the use of getting up from the sleep! There is absolutely no coordination in the administration; they are so busy protecting their seats that there is hardly any time left for welfare of the public!

    Although the union government has asked chief minister Yediyurappa to take immediate precautions with foresight, these selfish 'samaja sayvae' politicians (who themselves don't even wear a mask) are reluctant to do anything. The maximum they may do is night curfew in Blr, with was proven as a total failure in Maharashtra. Most of the ministers are busy with defending all sorts of corruption/sex allegations...etc, running to the court, gag on media...etc

    Poor CM...what he can do alone ? Majority of the ministers are busy running to supreme court, behind lawyers to cover up their wrong doings out of fear. Name sake holding the posts. May almighty guide our CM and bless him to tackle this covid problems amidst of these good for nothing, greedy for posts ministers...
