Mumbai, Mar 18: A free Covid-19 vaccination drive was organized by Bhartiya Janata Party Lonavala Mandal in association with the Republican Party of India (Athavle) and co-operation extended by Dr Amol Agarwal founder-director of Shri Ramlal Agarwal Sanjeevani Medical Foundation, Lonavala. This special covid-19 vaccination drive was organized on the occasion of the birthday of BJP Lonavala senior leader Karkala Nadibettu Shridhar Somappa Pujari who is also the former vice-president of Lonavala Municipal Council and sitting corporator of LMC.
The vaccination drive was organized for the age group of 60+ senior citizens who are poor and needy and face difficulty in online covid-19 vaccination registration. Around 500 beneficiaries registered their names in the free Covid-19 vaccination drive at a private government-recognized hospital in Lonavala and jointly organized by BJP Lonavala-RPI (A). The party aims to and expressed its desire to provide this facility to a minimum of 1000+ beneficiaries of 60+ age BPL group absolutely free of cost for both round 1 and round 2 of vaccination to all above beneficiaries in the near future.
While speaking to the reporter, Shridhar Pujari expressed his strong desire to celebrate this birthday in a unique manner for the poor and needy senior citizens in the society by avoiding celebrations, flowers-bouquets and personal birthday banner wishes.
The vaccination drive was formally inaugurated in the presence of the president of Lonavala Municipal Council Surekhatai Jadhav, RPI (A) Pune District president Ayu Suryanant ji Waghmare, BJP Lonavala president Ramvilas Khandelwal, RPI(A) Lonavala president Ayu Kamalshil Maske in the presence of councillors of LMC Devidas Kadu - Gat Neta-BJP LMC, Vishal Padale, Ayu, Dilip Damodare, Brinda Ganatra, Rachana Sinkar, Manda Sonavane. All the dignitaries while speaking on this occasion congratulated Shridhar Pujari to adopt this drive for a common class of society. Senior BJP leader, Arvind Kulkarni delivered the inaugural speech and former councillor, Rajabhau Khaladkar delivered the vote of thanks to the public.
Former councillor Balasaheb Jadhav, Dilip Mankame, Mahila Morcha President Yogita Kokre, Yuva Morcha president Shubham Mankame, Ganesh Gaikwad, Chaitanya Dalvi, Shrawan Chikne, Sanket Nikude, Vikay Sakat, Yash Walanj, Neha Palkar, Diksha Gaikwad, Shruti Kute, Nidhi Mankame, Saniya Shaikh, Ashish Butala, Kamlesh Sengar, Babu Sampat, general-secretary Rupesh Nandavate, Amit Gandhe, Sameer Ingle, Vijaya Marathe, Sujata Mehta Nandu Joshi and a large public gathering witnessed the covid-19 vaccination drive throughout the day.
