Bantwal, Jul 24: The 48 days of annual yajna yaga (religious rituals) which is held during the month of July and August have commenced at Manila Sridama Srimahalaxmi Kshetra, here.

The various rituals including Srilaxmi puja and kanakadara yaga have started in the kshetra under the guidance of Mohandas Paramhamsa Swamiji.

Explaining about the importance of rituals Mohandas Swamiji said that instead of performing all the pujas in a single day it is better to do it with great devotion for 48 days as it will be more meaningful. Rising early every morning, chanting the various hymns, meditating and offering prayers to God in itself brings about a discipline in life and increased belief in the almighty, he added.

He also said that performing the yajna yagas helps in the betterment of the world as a whole. He explained the several benefits of spirituality to the devotees.

On Friday August 20 some more important rituals like Sri Varamahalaxmi Vratacharane, Danvantari homa, Ashtalaxmi Yaga, Kanakadari yaga, Ganapati homa and samuhika kumkumarchane among others will be held at the kshetra. The swamiji has requested all the devotees to take part in the rituals.
