London, Jul 28 (IANS): Pop star Dannii Minogue insists she lacks the confidence to make a comeback to the music industry after a seven-year hiatus.
Dannii, who is the younger sister of Kylie Minogue, is now gearing up to release new tracks and she fears what critics will have to say about her new work, reports contactmusic.com.
"I've got to get some confidence with it and I don't have that now. I think I've copped quite a bit of flak (criticism) over the years for the music: 'It's not as good as your sister's music' or 'It's not charted this' or 'It should have done that', but I've enjoyed it and I've learned a lot," said Dannii.
The Australian singer has spent the last three years mentoring contestants on Simon Cowell's British talent show "The X Factor".
"It's been pushed back to (the bottom of) my agenda for a long time. Since 'X Factor' came on the scene, I've been heavily involved in the mentoring of others and helping their music careers. Returning to singing myself is kind of scary because it's like getting back on the horse," she added.
She gave birth to a baby boy earlier this month.
