Mangaluru, Apr 13: "The family of the murder-accused connected with the murder of Akeef is being shifted clandestinely from its current location. When the police commissioner was sounded about the development, the process was stalled. This is a part of the conspiracy aimed at destroying evidences in the case," alleged Khaleel Talapady, leader of Justice for Akeef Citizens Committee, K C Road.

He was speaking at the mega protest meeting organized at K C Road on Monday April 12 under the aegis of Justice for Akeef Citizens Committee, K C Road.

"Everyone is bothered by the question as to what is actually concealed behind the murder of Akeef. We need proper answers. On the day of the incident, city police commissioner N Shashi Kumar, had promised to provide justice by handling the case like a member of the bereaved family. In the meantime, attempt to secretly shift some goods from the place where the juvenile delinquent stayed, is being made. After we drew the attention of the commissioner to this issue, the shifting had been put on hold. The investigating officers are expected to probe the crime in this case strictly as per the first information report registered under specific sections of law without meddling with evidences, and see that the accused gets stringent punishment," he urged.

Student Union president, Sawad, accused the police commissioner of not organizing a press meet to inform about the arrest of the accused and his father relating to the case. He said he is unaware as to whether the commissioner suffers from lack of information. "The police department has been following partisan policy as far as providing justice to the victim's family is concerned. Right from the murder of advocate Naushad Kashimji, this discriminatory attitude has been witnessed. We want to know why. We will continue to fight till we get justice. For this purpose, we are even prepared to hold protest in front of Ullal police station," he warned.

Merchants and vendors voluntarily observed bandh by closing down their shops and taking part in the protest. A large number of women were present at the meeting. Locals Moideen Bawa, Ashraf K C Road, Siddique Kolangare, Irshad Ajjinadka, Khaleel KC Road, father of Akeef, Haneef, othier family members, leaders and activists of Auto Rickshaw Drivers and Owners Association K C Road etc participated.

Since the act is done by a juvenile, nothing much is expected in this case. Juvenile will be counselled and will be let free eventually... If we try to act on parents for the mistakes of children, Akeef parents will also be punished for allowing their son to play banned game.

By the way all this shit lovk downs, distancing has nothing to do with corona. Its just a big scam that people are getting fooled. Let the news stop publishing on corona, then everyone feel safe

Haneef...here Nelson is not talking about Christians or any religion. Why you are bringing any religion here? Knowing the credentials of these protesters and their leaders, it's better not to be part of this. If you join these people then unnecessarily you will be dragging into problems. If you face any issues, none of these leaders will try to help you. This is universal truth. This holds good even with Bajarang dal, Rama Sene etc as well. Who are being killed? It's common man and not the leaders. Leaders just use the people and people blindly follow them.

Honestly i had religion in mind, but since you are reminding me of church attacks, let me remind about three generations back how one from your faith called Tipu Sultan finished off 80 percent of my ancestors. It does not matter becoz religion is the cause then and now for all this death. There are many good muslims brothers today and a few are creating ruckus. The same goes for those were involved in those church attacks. Those of us who dont believe in these division's and want to live in harmony lets keep away from these miscreants for the good of our beloved Mangalore
