Kasargod: Watery grave for two brothers who went to swim in river

Kasargod, Apr 14: In an unfortunate incident, two boys of a family drowned in a stream in Parappachal near West Eleri on Wednesday, April 14.

The deceased have identified as Albin (15) son of Reji of Kavundala and his cousin Blesson Thomas (20) son of Thomas. Albin was a student of Varokodu School and was in the 10th standard. The other youth Blesson was pursuing his BSc in nursing at a private medical college in Mangaluru. The incident took place when the two boys had come down to their friend's house to take part in the Vishu programme. The duo had ventured into the water to take a swim. But, as the water flow was high, they drowned.

The locals made all efforts to rescue the boys and even rushed them to the hospital. However, unfortunately, they could not be saved.

The mortal remains of the boys have been moved to Kannur Medical College for autopsy.
