Udupi: Tipper carrying gravel rams into bike - 45-year-old rider dies on spot

Udupi, Apr 14: A tipper laden with gravel hit a bike on Wednesday afternoon, killing the rider on the spot. The tragic accident occurred near Kukkehalli, Hiriadka.

The deceased has been identified as Koteshwar resident Mohammed Hanif (45). He was travelling to Hiriadka from Kukkehalli when the tipper approaching from the opposite direction rammed into his bike.

As per reports, Hanif was killed from being run over by the tipper. The driver of the tipper had fled the scene after the accident. However, he later came forward and surrendered before the police.

Hiriadka police are conducting investigations in this connection.

    For the family it is one loved one gone forever. One bread earner perhaps the only one gone forever. For the family one moral support, the pillar of the family who kept the family loved, sane and safe is gone. But for the government he is just another one in a million and he wont matter in such a huge population. And so for them life goes on. The tipper will still continue to mow down scores again.

    We must realize which is safe for us. Be it driving a two wheeler or four wheeler. I had seen some two wheeler riders ride like they are the owner's of the road. In such accidents they are the ones who get killed most. It is better to know our limitations while driving. Let it be any vehicle.
