Puttur: Body of youth found lying on railway tracks

Puttur, Apr 16: Body of a youth with his skull and torso separated, was found lying on the railway tracks between Puttur and Kaniyoor railway line near Savanur gate.

The body was sighted on Thursday April 15 morning. The victim was Mahesh, son of the late Balakrishna Rai Kenya, a resident of Devasya Dambe in Punchappadi village, Balakrishna Rai was a retired teacher.

It is learnt that Mahesh was suffering from depression and on account of this, it is believed, he would have chosen to end his life. The railway police visited the spot, and registered a case. Post-mortem was performed at the government hospital here.

The deceased has left behind mother, elder brother and two elder sisters.
