Mangaluru: Over 1,200 striking KSRTC employees report for work

Mangaluru, Apr 16: The strike undertaken by KSRTC, employees has not had a telling impact on the people of the coastal districts of Karnataka. On Thursday, over 1,200 transport staff reported for work.

In Dakshina Kannada, more than 900 KSRTC staff came back for work and more than 400 buses were pressed into service. In Mangaluru, different kinds of services move around. A few NUURM buses too moved about. In Puttur division over 70 buses moved around.

Even though the indefinite stir of the employees is continuing, more and more people are gradually coming back for work in Mangaluru, Puttur and Udupi divisions.

In Udupi and Kundapur units, over 200 employees reported back to work and 55 buses were operated. On Friday more employees and buses are expected to work.
