PM nod to procuring 1 lakh portable oxygen concentrators from PM Cares Fund

New Delhi, Apr 28 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday sanctioned the procurement of one lakh portable oxygen concentrators from the PM Cares Fund.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, to discuss the measures needed to improve liquid medical oxygen (LMO) supply for Covid management. He instructed that these oxygen concentrators should be procured at the earliest and provided in states with a high case burden.

In addition to the earlier sanctioned 713 Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) plants under PM Cares Fund, 500 new PSA plants have been sanctioned. The PSA plants will augment the supply of liquid medical oxygen at hospitals in district headquarters and Tier 2 cities. These 500 PSA plants will be established with transfer of the indigenous technology developed by the DRDO and the CSIR to the domestic manufacturers.

Establishing PSA plants and procurement of portable oxygen concentrators will greatly augment the supply of oxygen near the demand clusters, thereby addressing the current logistical challenges in transporting oxygen from plants to hospitals, an official statement said.

Oxygen concentrator can be used continuously as long as there is electricity, but in villages, when electricity goes for hours or days, it is of no use. However, portable oxygen concentrator which is generally used in ambulances and which works on battery, works till battery discharged, generally in 4 to 5 hours. Then it has to be charged for 4 to 5 hours.

A bit too less a bit too late !!! If we died of a war, it would be a pride for any country or a government, but when thousands are dying of a pandemic that was known to come back the second time, it is a shame. What is more shameful is that the bhakths and the govt propaganda machine is all out on comparing on how we have still won, to other countries.

It is a good news. But when they reach India and when they are useful for the present crisis is important. If it is like 10000 bed covid care center like Kanataka Government then even God may fail to bring us out of this crisis.

Country and party are two different things, don’t mix them up for your vested interest. My life is for the country but not for any party. FYI, you are ruining the country.
