This is a great effort by the concerned and especially Mr. Ozario. The Konkani language is the HEART of this culture and this dieing heart is being resurrected again with these efforts. While we appreciate the efforts, its in our own backyard our Konkani is dying specially in urban settings, our young are reluctant to speak Konkani. How can we preserve Konkani culture without speaking and writing Konkani language? Food, dances and customs athough are integral part of the Konkani culture, its the Konkani Language that will carry on this rich heritage now and in the future.

Let us speak and teach our young Konkani and this is the only way we can continue our culture and langauage for generations to come.

Congrats to Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore and Hon. Minister Moily on their decision to join hands and support a great event in Gulf. This is a great idea and speaks volumes of the vision these two great people from different backgrounds and different cultures to work for a common cause. Mr. Eric Ozario congrats to you for your efforts in focusing your attention on the present issues concerning all and more particularly the christian communities.

Archbishop Moras, indeed has played important roles at different times in drawing the attention of the Karnataka ruling party on the prevailing situation.

I join others in wishing the event a great success.

Thanks, Mr. James Mendonca, for your vision and your generosity in organizing this event in the Gulf. Shriman Eric Ozario is a rare and precious gift for our community and our society. Your group efforts will bring a new focus to the vibrant Konkany audience not only in Dubai but throughout the Gulf. Side by side it is a new awakening for our Arab friends to know how much we care for our communal pride and solidarity. As we dedicate so much in the Arab world through our hard work, honesty and integrity, it is appropriate for us to display our cultural strength and pride to our Arab friends and inculcate in them the value of the roots of our history of deep heritage that binds India and the beighbouring Arabs for centuries. We must also try and encourage some of the Arab folklore to visit Mangalore and display some of their cultural folk dances and music to our society in the Konkan region. This is where bilateral cultural links can flourish for a long lasting mutual relations. Globalization begins with our neighbours first. India has lot more to offer to the Arabs than what China does. We are closer to the Arabs than anyone else
