Bangalore, Aug 20: Siddhayogananda Swamiji (45) of Vanakallu Malleshwar Mutt near Narasipur in the taluk, committed suicide on Thursday August 19 by hanging himself.

The Swamiji was serving the Ashram since the last 15 years. He was a native of Hosadaroji village near Munirabad in Bellady district. A letter recovered from his possession says that he was himself responsible for his death.

The villagers however, feel that there were no compelling reasons for the Swamiji to commit suicide. Some workers of the Mutt alleged that Madhumayananda Swamiji, who was in the ashram in the past, was directly responsible for the death of the present Swamiji.
