Kaup, May 27: Haridas Bhat (65), who had met with an accident near Kurkalu-Subhas Nagar and was undergoing treatment for his grievous injuries, breathed his last on Wednesday May 26 in a hospital in Udupi. He has left behind his wife and two sons.
On Saturday morning, Bhat was injured after an auto rickshaw hit his motorbike near the arch of Kurkalu Subhas Nagar. Bhat was immediately admitted into a private hospital in Udupi. Even though efforts were made to save his life, he succumbed to injuries, it is learnt.
Haridas Bhat was running transport concern for the last 45 years. He had undertaken tours to various places around India and helped people to meet their dreams of pilgrimage and sightseeing. He was famously known with the name, J N Bhat. He had served Pangala Lord Janardana temple Seva Samiti, Pangala Ganeshotsava Samiti and the district tempo drivers and owners association etc in the capacity of an office bearer.
