Puttur, May 29: It is common to have minor issues at Covid care centers. But the Covid care centre here in the city is unique in the sense that there are no issues at all.
The Covid care center that is run at the Balnadu Morarji Desai residential school here works as a model Covid center. The Covid infected patients who are quarantined here have good facilities including hot water and nutritious food. The patients says that they are happy in the Covid care centre and they will get well soon.
In Puttur, there are three Covid care centers at Balnadu, government hospital and Uppinangady community hospital. At present 28, 12 and 3 people are in quarantine at Balnadu, Puttur and Uppinangady respectively.
In the Balnadu covid center 43 people are registered for quarantine. Out of them 15 have returned home after getting well. 28 people are under treatment now. In Puttur Covid care center 34 people got admitted, out of which four have returned home after getting cured and 30 are under treatment. In the Uppinangady center three people are admitted and all are under treatment now.
More than medicines, providing nutritious food to Covid patients is priority. For the Covid patients of Morarji Desai Covid care center tea is provided in the morning, for lunch eggs and fruits, evening Kashaya and chapathi meals for dinner. In addition, continuous hot water supply is maintained as per the information given by nodal officer of the center and principal Subramanya Nayak.
Tahsildar Ramesh Babu says, “When a person is in home quarantine, there are chances that the infection might spread to other people at home. However, such a question does not arise in a Covid care center. That is why, according to the orders of the state government all facilities are provided in these centers. There is no need of fear or anxiety about Covid care centers. No one should listen to the propaganda that is being published about Covid care centers run by the government. The patients who are infected with Covid should get admitted here. This will help them to get cured faster and also prevent the infection from spreading to their family members.”
