Bengaluru, May 29: Karnataka on Saturday May 29, registered 20,628 new coronavirus cases.
As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 3,50,066. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally was 4,889 new cases.
As many as 492 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Saturday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 278 deaths and Ballari 14. With this, the toll so far has risen to 28,298.
The state recorded 42,444 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 21,89,064.
So far, Karnataka has seen 25,67,449 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The positivity rate for the day stands at 14.95%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 2.38%. As many as 1,32,78,089 people have received vaccination so far.
