Bengaluru, May 31: Here’s some good news for students and employees going abroad. As per the revised list of preferential groups for vaccination, announced by the Centre’s National Health Mission and communicated to the states, students going to foreign countries to pursue their studies and employees going abroad for work/employment can be vaccinated starting from Tuesday, June 1.

Deputy chief minister and minister for higher education Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, who is also Karnataka’s State Covid Task Force chief, the National Health Mission has sent a revised list of preferential groups for vaccination which allows administration of vaccines to students pursuing education abroad, persons going to other countries in order to work/employment, workers of milk co-operative societies and cable operators.

The vaccination campaign for students going to foreign countries to pursue their studies and those who need to travel to get employed in other countries will be launched on Tuesday afternoon June 1, 2021, at 3:00 pm at the administrative block of Bengaluru City University, Dr Narayan said.

There was demand from these sections to facilitate vaccination on priority and Dr Narayan had taken the initiative to meet this demand.

Those who wish to get inoculated should possess visas, admission receipts or any such relevant documents with them. Certificates confirming the completion of the certificate will also be issued on the spot, he explained.

For those in the preferential list, who have received the Covishield vaccine in the first doze, the time gap has also been relaxed and they can get the second shot even before completing 6 weeks, he said.

The deputy chief minister said the chief commissioner of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike and all the district commissioners have been asked to issue the necessary eligibility certificates to students going to foreign countries and those who need to travel to get employed in other countries based on the verification of documents.

Earlier, Dr Narayan joined the vaccination of purohits or poojaris organized at the Rotary Club Community Hall at Malleswaram.

Good idea to make money double or more. They are compelled to take it, else they can't go. Well, well, many of them may have voted for the very government. Enjoy the governance with a difference.

This is another scam, creating windows officially for people with contacts to get priority...who is going to check the veracity of VISAs when there are length you ques and a mad rush to get vaccinated, specially senior citizens and the sick .?? What about the mostly non working CoWin App . ?? I am a senior citizen with severe health issues , I am to wait Form the mandatory 84 days, and here the Government is allowing 6 weeks for Dose 2 in the new circular... where is science and logic .. only God can save us from these uninformed Politicians...
