May 31: Dakshina Kannada reports 651 fresh corona cases, 519 in Udupi; 11 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, May 30: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, May 31 reported 651 new coronavirus cases.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 8,51,022 samples have been tested so far, out of which 7,74,823 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 76,199, out of which 9,133 are currently active.

As many as 840 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 66,153.

The district recorded seven deaths due to coronavirus on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 913.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 70,94,317 in fines for 60,132 mask violations. 

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 2,24,228 samples have been tested since the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 519 new cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 35,116, out of which 5,092 are currently active.

A total of 765 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 29,881.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 143 lives in the district, including four on Monday.

    If the parent of a minor dies due to covid the relatives/friends please get covid on death certificate as this will be vital to get future compensation from the government.
