Karkala: Child protection unit rescues four children living with hapless father

Karkala, Jun 3: The district child protection unit rescued and rehabilitated four children who were with their hapless father within the limits of the rural police station here. The children had lost their mother sometime back.

The father along with his three male and a female children were found in a helpless state at Madanadu within the limits of Nitte gram panchayat. Social worker Ramitha Shailendra, had called the district child protection unit, pleading to rescue the children and their listless father. The unit immediately took measures to rescue the children who are devoid of their mother. A team visited the house of the family that is in shambles. The department, which saw for itself the bad condition of the four children and their father who are ill, rehabilitated the children without delay.

District child protection officer Kumar Naik, legal surveillance officer Prabhakar Achar, protection officer Mahesh Devadiga, Karkala child development project officer Umesh, Karkala rural police station sub-inspector Tejasvi, members, Praveen Kotian, Atmanand Poojary as well as social workers, Ramitha Shailendra and Harshavardhan Nitte took part in the operation.

The children were rehabilitated as per the instruction of Ronald Furtado, president of the child welfare committee.

    @rita , germany , there r lakhs of families staying on streets , then can we separate their parents and put them in rehabilitation ?! , its nit right , a poor father aldo have right to stay with children , what people can do is , give them money so that they can stay in father , not separating them ....

    This is ridiculous , father can file any charges against this NGO ?! , it can amount to kidnapping as father is legal guardian . Instead they should have helped father and children stay together , given them some money or resources ..

    Roshan Braganza Mumbai,we see here four small children with a sick father ,not in a condition to lookafter ,and their house or "Jopdy".How he can look after them ?We or he can ask later when his health is improved .but not now.Now important is childrens health .specially in this corona time.One must understand the situation.Sure they would like to be with father .Pity them.wish them all the best.Govt.must provide them a house .

    Really miserable situation. This is indias image in the world. Some people donate millions of rupees to constuct Ram mandir and central vista like spacious buildings. Please give priority to this kind of Unpreileged children.
