Mangaluru, Jun 8: At a time when different companies are vying with each other in attracting customers with colourful and fashionable masks, Nitin Vas from the district has succeeded in winning the attention of the people through his environment-friendly masks.

Nitin's achievement was noticed by deputy chief minister (DCM) of Karnataka, Dr Ashwath Narayan. "Kudlada Javane Nitin Vas. Eeer Malthina Parisara Sneni Mask Ireg Matra Ath Idi Deshoge Hemme. Inchina Mast Bele Malthad Yedde Pudar Getonle. Solmelu Nitin (Nitin Vas from Mangaluru, the environment friendly masks you have made are not only made you proud but also the country as a whole. I wish that you will achieve more things in life in the future and earn name and fame. Namaskar).

Nitin Vas from Pakshikere has made eco-friendly masks. Even American media has covered his achievements through interviews and articles. His masks are unique. Once used and discarded, these masks grow into plants as the seeds are embedded in them. These masks are made of cotton.
