Beltangady, Jun 8: The police arrested a man for sexually assaulting a minor girl under Dharmasthala police station limits.
The arrested accused is identified as Vignesh Bhandary. The victim is a four-year-old girl.
It is gathered that the accused had sexually assaulted the girl on earlier occasions too but the matter was settled through dialogue.
This time, the parents went forward and filed a complaint with police. The accused has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to police sources, the incident took place on Monday June 7 at around 2.30 pm. The accused will be produced before the court, informed the police.
