Mangalore: Youth Killed as Bikes Collide in City

Mangalore, Aug 28: In an accident that occurred on Friday August 27 evening at Padil junction in the city, a person named Ashwini Kumar (26), lost his life.

Ashwini Kumar, son of the owner of cloth shop, ‘Eshwar and Sons’ in Vittal, Achuta, was returning to Vittal from the city, where he is employed. A motor bike coming towards the city from the direction of Bantwal, hit him at Padil junction,  because of the impact of which, he was thrown onto the road. The youth, who suffered severe injuries, was rushed to a hospital immediately, but could not be saved. Ashwini was along in his motor bike.

While Ashok Vincent, who was riding the other bike, escaped unhurt, his pillion rider, Pravin, was injured. Pravin was treated as an outpatient in a local hospital. A case has been registered in the rural police station here.
