Vaccines to all above 18 in Karnataka by end of December: Ashwath Narayan

Bengaluru, Jun 16: Deputy chief minister and State Covid Task Force chief Dr C N Ashwath Narayan on Wednesday declared that the state government will ensure that everybody above 18 years will be vaccinated by the end of December this year.

Launching the special vaccination drive for advocates organized by the advocates for Green Earth Non-Governmental Organisation and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) at the Kanteerava Stadium, he lamented that opposition parties were politicizing the vaccination issue and made it clear that the state government will not go back on its promise.

Dr Narayan said getting vaccinated is the most effective solution to overcome the Covid pandemic and all citizens must come forward to get vaccinated.

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for effectively handling the Covid pandemic situation and said the state government has also handled the situation quite efficiently.

Compared to other countries, he said India has done well in the vaccination initiative and the country took the lead in the research and manufacture of vaccines.

Lok Sabha member P C Mohan, senior advocate Vivek Reddy, state solicitor general, Nargund, Bar Council president, Srinivas Babu and other senior advocates were present.
