Bengaluru: State government spends Rs 8.11 crore on 36 luxury cars for use of guests

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jun 19: The state BJP government led by chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa has held back many projects related to development and is not releasing grants because of the coronavirus pandemic. But the purchase of 36 luxury cars for the use of guests at a cost of Rs 8.11 crore has surprised everyone. Out of the 36 vehicles, 35 are Innova Crysta while one car is of Volvo make. Officials do not have a clear answer for the question of the necessity of this expenditure at this difficult time of Covid pandemic.

The state government officials say that these cars will be used for the transportation of guests who arrive to our state, union government officials, politicians and on special occasions. On an average the road price of Innova Crysta in the city varies from Rs 15.98 lac to Rs 24.32 lac. There are 16 classes. When the government bought 36 cars in bulk they should have got a huge discount. However, there are suspicions on the price at which these cars are bought.

There is opportunity to use the vehicles given to scheduled tribe people under the Airavata scheme of the Social Welfare department for the use of guests when they arrive for visit to the state. If this is done, it will give livelihood to the beneficiary of the state scheme also. In addition, the beneficiaries get new vehicles every year, so the guests can move around in new cars.

Social worker Marilingagowda Mali Patil says, “Commoners are facing hardship during the difficult time of the coronavirus pandemic while the government officials are buying luxury cars and emptying the state treasury. That too they have bought vehicles at prices higher than the market. CM Yediyurappa has to order an inquiry on this matter.”

We would have been glad if Government used this money towards infrastructure of Health Care systems like, Oxygen Plants, proper beds, ICU betterment etc. God save us from these corrupt political leaders. People are suffering from job loss, less salary, hike in food n fuel rates. Does any of this matter to our political leaders?9

Every State government in India is splurging tax payers money by buying high-end air-conditionedToyota Innovas. Even very junior officials are roaming around in high-end air-conditioned vehicles. There is zero austerity, especially in these times of super expensive fuel prices. Unless a policy decision is taken that only fuel efficient vehicles costing less than Rs.5 lakhs will be purchased, this kind of extravaganza by politicians and bureaucrats will go on merrily.

63percent of india as per survey, don't know who done it and what accreditation they have, whatever it is but says PM Modi is seen as most successful leader in India, despite massive economic and social blunders. So, cribbing on all these essential expenses like the govt would put it, is silly. Its the choice they made in polls.

Very bad. Why that much of huge money is distroyed for very silly reasons? Why cant the guests come by ordinary vehicles? If an mla or mp (so called guests! ) wishes to visit his own constituency or state by a laxurios car, let him arrange his own spending his own money. Do these party people remember Rama only during the construction of Ram Mandir? Rama should be seen in each action of this party. Eama rejected his own wife for the sake of his countryman. But these people, so called Ramabhaktas, are spending a large amount of countrymen's money to make "guests!" happy...!!!

A simple calculation of the total amount and no of luxury cars indicates that the shadow Maga a.k.a Super CM must have made 30% in kickbacks in this deal alone. How much went to Motu Bhai is the key question? Well, even Napoléon Bonaparte would have had some brain's and looted under a different excuse!

Just leave it yaar. It is for the guests and amount is 8.11 crores. What everyone has to bother is, at this crucial time, when a person claimed as lived in poverty, worked as chaiwala for a living, called himself fakir and told he slept on hard floor during childhood, has spent taxpayers 8600 cr on two luxurious planes and now bent upon spending 20000 cr on central vista that contains among others, an opulent magnificent ivory tower for himself. Are we paying tax on almost every item and so much income tax, while we slog giving our sweat and blood to earn a decent living, for such kingly lifestyle of a person who is only interested in creating self image ?

This 8.11 crore is a small investment. Not expenditure. If people of Karnataka want foreign investors to invest in Karnataka, investors need to be shown location for establishing factories etc. Only if investment comes will state thrive. So lets not crib or interfere in government investment or statergies. We Indians have bad habit of complaining. For Gods sake for once stop complaining. Minding our own business is the business. Everything in life is not politics
