Tumkur, Sep 1: Executive officer of Gubbi taluk panchayat, Mahalingaiah, was suspended, after it was observed that he was busy watching obscene SMS while participating in a government programme.
The official had lost himself in watching the clips, when the progress review meeting of Tumkur district, presided over by the district in-charge minister, was in progress on Tuesday August 31. The progress review meeting was organized at the zilla panchayat hall here.
District in-charge minister, S Suresh Kumar, was in serious discussion about the district’s progress with the participating officials, when it was observed that the official named above was engrossed with obscene MMS, instead of paying attention to the discussions. The minister thereafter, asked the officials to suspend him with immediate effect.
