Beltangady: Man ends life after killing minor son following a scuffle

Beltangady, Jun 23: A 58 year-old-man ended his life after killing his minor son for a frivolous reason in Punjalkatte on Wednesday, June 23.

It is said that Babu Naik who was residing in a rented house near Sri Rama Bhajana Mandir killed his son Satwik (15) and later ended his life.

Babu Naik's wife, Sugandhi had been to a cashew factory for work when the incident took place. Satwik was a student of Class 8 in Government School in Punjalkatte. Babu Naik who was an alcohol addict would get into scuffles for frivolous reasons. On Wednesday, after a scuffle with his son, Naik hacked his son to death and later committed suicide. The incident came to light after Sugandhi rushed to the house as Satwik did not pick the call.

A case has been registered in this connection under the limits of Punjalkatte police station. Sub-Inspector Soumya J rushed to the spot to conduct an investigation.

    Terrible, tragic and sad.Only if our men realize how sweet life can be without alcohol ,and many lives could be saved.Heartfelt sympathy to the mother who lost her son killed by own husband.Poor boy he had no chance against his father.May his soul rest in peace.Killing own son that too a minor after drinking alcohol,is no go.Didnt feel any blood relationship even?
