Mangalore: Vittal Pindi - Liquor Sale Banned

Mangalore, Sep 2: As a precautionary measure in view of celebrations connected with Srikrishna Janmashtami and Vittal Pindi (Mosaru Kudike Utsav), liquor sale has been banned within the jurisdiction of the commissionerate here, from 3 pm on September 1, to 6 am on September 3. Sale of liquor has also been banned within the places falling under the limits of  Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, from 6 am on September 2, to 6 am on September 3.

Orders in this connection were issued by the district deputy commissioner. A release from the office of the deputy commissioner said that sale of liquor and supplying the same in hotels, star hotels and clubs too have been banned. The excise officials have been instructed to keep front and back doors of wine shops and bars sealed during the said period.
