Mangaluru, Jun 25: Deputy commissioner of police (Law and Order) Hariram Shankar on Friday, June 25 asked the police personnel to strictly implement weekend curfew from 7 pm on Friday, June 25 till 6 am on Monday, June 28.

Speaking to the media DCP said, "The deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada has issued orders for weekend curfew. Hence, during curfew only medical stores, milk shops and government offices will be open. There is no permission for any other activities. The same has been conveyed to the staff and clarity has been given about the weekend curfew. We have given our officials full freedom to seize the vehicles of those who violate the order."

Only people travelling for medical emergencies will be allowed. Delivery boys will be allowed to deliver the food. We have set up 35 checkposts. In each of the checkpost, we have deployed 10 staff. We will rope CAR staff to transport seized vehicles, he added.

The corona virus that does not spread through the bus(Public transport) spreads through own vehicles like car. What an illogical decision. I am really surprised whether these IPS officers really passed the Civil service exam or paid bribe to pass these exams as they dont have brain at all.

CM says one thing, minister another and police something else. All at their own whims and fancy and want to demonstrate their authority. What have they got to lose - they get their salary whether they work or not. No wonder the public is confused about whether the city is open or closed and shops either close off early out of fear of license suspension or don't open at all. Forget about being a smart city for the next 10 years.
