Brahmavar, Jul 26: Kota police sub-inspector, Santosh Kumar and staff, on getting information that a Bolero pick-up truck was illegally carrying cattle from the direction of Saligrama towards Mangaluru, took up inspection of vehicles near Sastan Junction in the taluk on national highway 66 on Friday July 25.

The vehicle in question approached the junction with cattle, but on seeing that the policemen were present, the persons in the vehicle stopped the vehicle about 50 metres ahead, got down, and escaped.

The police grew suspicious and checked the vehicle. Three men inside the vehicle had escaped before the police could act. The police, upon inspection, found a cow, two male calves and two buffalos being transported in a violent manner by tying them up by their necks with nylon ropes. The cattle were not provided fodder, food or water. The police realised that the animals were being illegally taken for the purpose of preparing meat.

Kavadi Sathish Poojary, who reportedly was the middleman who supplied the cattle to the accused, has been arrested. A case under section 379 of the Indian Penal Code and 8.9.11 of the Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act has been registered in Kota police station in which Kavadi and three unidentified persons have been cited as accused. Provisions of section 11(1)D of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act have also been involved.

Surprising to note that most of the cow/cattle theft and transportation incidents end up in the men involved including the man on wheel escape unhurt. Thanks to police showing some pity🤣

Deshbhakth & Observer, Unlike you guys, we wont side with criminals by seeing their name. Transporting animals in inhuman manner is illegal also. Hence, "just transporting" word is nothing but trying to dilute the issue. With that, all here know that they are "common factors"

this incident gives the clear picture of what is happening in this cow stealing business.. people from majority community either sell it to the Muslim butchers and then inform the matter to right wing Hindu groups, who ask for hafta..If the butcher pays it is okay..they will escort him with cattle to the slaughter area..If not call police... This is Govina Mahatme..
