Mangaluru, Jun 29: “80% of Malaria cases that fall between 1,800 to 1,900 cases are detected in Karnataka in Dakshina Kannada district. Therefore, people should be careful about the contagious disease of Malaria,” warned district panchayat CEO Dr Kumar.
Speaking at the Malaria control information programme, he said, "1,900 Malaria cases were found in the state during 2020. “1,300 Malaria cases among them belonged to the district. Therefore, awareness and knowledge is essential among the people.
“Workshops and awareness programmes about Malaria are not effective if there is no cleanliness and hygiene. Therefore, cleanliness is essential to get rid of Malaria.”
