Mangaluru: Birthday of Dalit leader Kudmul Ranga Rao celebrated at city Block Congress office

Mangaluru, Jun 29: District block Congress celebrated the 162nd birth anniversary of Dalit leader Kudmul Ranga Rao at its office in the city. The programme was organised by the Schedule unit of city block Congress.

Former MLA J R Lobo, city block president Prakash B Salian and leaders of other units took part in the programme.

Eminent leaders on the dais including former MLA J R Lobo, senior member of MCC M Shashidhar Hegde, opposition leader of MCC Vinay Raj, former deputy mayor Rajanish Kapikad, secretary of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe development organization Mohan Gangaiah Swamy and Honnaiah Valencia recalled the social commitment, vision of Dalit upliftment and selfless service shown by the late Dalit leader Kudmul Ranga Rao.

Vishwas Kumar Das, president of district backward communities, Keshava Maroli, corporator, Padmanabha Amin, former corporator, T K Sudhir former director of KSRTC advisory committee, Mithun Urwa, president, city block scheduled unit, Shanthala Gatty, president of women’s block, Liyakat Shah, secretary of city block Congress, Chethan, Yogish, Raghuraj Kadri, Dinesh Balipathota and other workers were present.

The programme was compered by Vasantha. Pratap Salian rendered the vote of thanks.
