Jun 29: Dakshina Kannada reports 263 new Covid cases, 15 deaths; Udupi records 82 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 29: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, June 28 reported 385 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 4.73%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 10,35,625 samples have been tested so far, out of which 9,43,112 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 92,513, out of which 5,308 are currently active.

As many as 744 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 86,295.

The district recorded 15 deaths due to coronavirus on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,180.

The district administration has collected Rs 92,95,317 in fines for 76,250 mask violations. 

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 3,12,615 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 82 new cases were reported on Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 42,679, out of which 879 are currently active.

A total of 98 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 41,597 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 203 lives in the district.
