India extends ban on international flights till July 31

New Delhi, Jun 30: Indian aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has extended the ban on scheduled international flights till July 31.

"In partial modification of circular dated 26-06-2020, the competent authority has further extended the validity of circular issued on the subject cited above regarding Scheduled International commercial passenger services to/from India till 2359 hrs 1ST of 31st July, 2021," the DGCA circular said.

The suspension of scheduled international passenger flights was last extended till June 30 amid the coronavirus pandemic. The DGCA, since March 2020 has extended the ban on international flights multiple times.

However, the restriction will not apply to international all-cargo operations flights that have been approved by DGCA.

While the domestic passenger flight services have resumed in the country, international flights continue to remain suspended even now. International flights under the Centre’s Vande Bharat Mission, however, had operated since May 2020 to selected countries.

    People who have lost jobs due to the reckless decisions of DGCA time and gain should unite together and sue it for the losses incurred. They are jobless due to the nonsense of aviation sector. They can atleast allow the vaccinated people to travel with the covid precautions in place. So many NRIs have lost good jobs.

    Whom to blame , since last year waiting to come India ,M'lore ,waited for flight, waited for vaccine to complete now travel ban. All OK now 3rd wave ? ................4th wave . every one comment but no one think how we are and where we are.? Money ,respect, friends nobody come to help even family member ask us come after once it is ok . what's going on any body advice me when will i come to my country and native.

    India can stop this madness by stopping unapproved RTPCR tests and asymptomatic spreading the virus fake narrative. Vaccines will never will be successful against mutating viruses like corona till today but certainly they will fill the coffers of vaccine industries. Expect world wide booster vaccinations after January as cases of seasonal flu will be branded as third wave as vaccines won't be effective against mutating viruses. Unless people wake up and expose the pandemic hoax this will continue until govts world over keeping all the curbs to have total control over people trampling their constitutional rights. Time to break free from evil globalists hidden agenda.

    Rita, take it up with Indian consulate there. They can come with a mutual understanding with Germany for bubble operation, as many of the countries have with India. May be they can operate from Frankfurt- Mumbai.

    It is surprising to read that DGCA has banned the flights. Is this coming in their purview? If the external ministry or Aviation ministry had taken such decision, it could have been sensible. Normally DGCA has responsibility of controlling airlines, their method of operations, their flight equipment etc. Allowing flights in or out of India in my opinion is not regulated by DGCA. Unfortunately every Tom Dick and Harry in India tries to bring in their own rules with excuse of COVID 19. Where was this DGCA when COVID started? Where was it when Inidan Nationals were stranded in different parts of the world? Now, such blind stoppage of flights can cause severe hardship to NRIs working in Middle East and elsewhere who have perhaps not been able to travel for over a year now. Many have lost their jobs and many will do so shortly. Does this DGCA take this responsibility? Just passing orders is like our DCs passing orders on access to Panambur beach sighting risk. From years together people have worked with such risks. Yet someone from North Karnataka comes here and uses his brains to put bans. How does DGCA know that COVID will last till 31st July? Better use some reasoning and decide. When one is allowing schools to function, theaters / malls to open, while domestic flights are allowed, why trouble the NRIs? In fact NRIs have been at the receiving end with all rules in India, so much so, some private organisations like marriage bureaus charge extra for NRIs. Even income tax dept has made NRIs to pay more TDS just because a few crooks dont file returns. Stop this nonsense of banning flights blindly.

    All those who are stuck in India, please do not panic. As of now, UAE ban is till 21st of july only. India has bubble arrangements with UAE. The current extension of ban till 31st does not apply for bubble arrangements. Until you hear from UAE regarding extension, dont worry.

    Shankeranna,mangalore,UAE is not the only land where people travel but out of it are also people stuck in mangalore.One of our friend/relative is also in mangalore stuck since 2019.His wife too is also supposed to return in July after a fall and fractures.This ban is making people lot of worries.Some other tourists who are stuck in mangalore .People are vaccinated but cant fly .

    Wrong decision....start regular national and international flights ....and allow ONLY people who are fully vaccinated to travel.... no need of social distancing and mask like in US... Modiji saying more Indians are vaccinated then in US....32+ Crore ...WHAT is the problem then???.... Who is Civil Aviation Minister of India???....Puri or Chapathi....Disgusting decision... ...Tak...Takk...

    Mr. Lan, let me put it correctly. What Modi said was, 32.8 crore doses of vaccines were administered in India till that date while it were 32,3 crore in USA. However only 5.3 crore people were fully vaccinated in India as against USA's 15.3 crores. Fully vaccinated people in India are only 4%. while USA are 47%. In terms of vaccination administered per 100 people, India is at 23.1 and US is at 96.7. Hence, India is still at great risk and social distancing and wearing mask is definitely needed in India, unlike USA.

    In most of the countries they have started to impose lockdown again because there is a news that 3rd wave is approaching. But in India, Government is started to relax lockdown and some places total unlock. Very strange, very strange.
