Jun 30: Dakshina Kannada reports 339 new Covid cases, 15 deaths; Udupi records 149 infections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 30: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, June 28 reported 339 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 3.89%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 10,41,318 samples have been tested so far, out of which 9,48,466 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 92,852, out of which 4,662 are currently active.

As many as 700 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 86,995.

The district recorded 15 deaths due to coronavirus on Wednesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,195.

The district administration has collected Rs 93,61,217 in fines for 76,695 mask violations. 

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 3,14,995 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 149 new cases were reported on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases to 42,828, out of which 940 are currently active.

A total of 88 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 41,685 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 203 lives in the district.
