Miffed Bhardwaj Seeks BSY Apology

Bangalore, Sep 9, (DHNS):
Continuing to keep up the heat on the State government, Governor H R Bhardwaj has sought an unconditional apology from Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa for alleging that he was yet to take action against Dharam Singh in relation to the mining case.

In a strongly worded letter to Yeddyurappa, an unrelenting Bhardwaj on Wednesday said: “In order to divert public attention, I feel that you have chosen to use intemperate language against the governor while ignoring the rampant corruption indulged (in) by some of your ministers.

“Therefore, for dragging the governor into this in such an objectionable manner, you owe me an unconditional public apology.”

CM regrets

Immediately after receiving Bhardwaj’s letter, Yeddyurappa replied to the Governor, saying that he has the highest regard for the governor and held him in high esteem.

In his missive, the governor said the Lokayukta’s report against Singh, a former Congress chief minister, was disposed of by a speaking order by his predecessor Rameshawar Thakur on June 23, 2009, although he (Bhardwaj) assumed office on June 29, 2009.

Therefore, attributing anything in relation to the action to be taken on the Lokayukta report against Singh to incumbent was without any basis.

Bhardwaj has also mentioned that the Chief Minister has not furnished a specific reply to Governor’s letter dated February 2, 2010, seeking factual information on Congress MLC K C Kondaiah’s petition to disqualify Ministerial trio from Bellary on charges of office of profit. The Governor has also said that he is yet receive a reply from the Chief Minister on JD(S) chief H D Deve Gowda’s petition on lawlessness in Bellary district.

In December 2008, the Lokayukta had submitted a report recommending action against certain individuals, including Singh and pointed out that the former CM should remit Rs 28 crore to the government for his lapses in issuing mining licences.

While speaking to the media on September 7 and 8, Yeddyurappa said the governor had omitted Singh’s name though the latter had issued mining licences on agricultural land. But in his reply to Bhardwaj, Yeddyurappa has said that media reports were far from the truth and that he had never mentioned anything about the governor not taking action against Singh.

Governers are puppets of congress. See Mr S M krishna. He was governer of Maharastra, then congress brought him back to active politics. Bharadwaj was former union minister and lost the election. To accommodate him, congress made him karnataka's governer. Governer should be non political person or retired from politics. If governers goes back to active politics, then how Bhardwaj or any other person can be neutral and unbiased?

Mr.Bharadwaj is a learned and accomplished lawyer, former union minister & well respected for his opinion in the entire country.Yedurappa is a petty politician known for his cheap gimmicks to corner votes.Yeddy never respected governer or ELection commissioner and many occations used derogatory words.Yeddy should learn civilised behaviour while dealing with high offices even if he does not agree with thier acts.Yeddy is one of low rated CM of Indian states, sad though.....

Mr. Shivanand Shetty, every coin has 2 sides and we require 2 hands to clap.
One fact is true, there is more of ego clash and lack of transparency. Ultimately we the tax payers has to bear their cost. What we expect is clean, honest governance which unfortunately is not existed in Karnataka, reasons some known and some unknown.
Always clean person doesnot worry for the outcome and they do not bother to talk boldly. Guilty always cover their corrupt action by corrupt means.

Mr. Governor how can you expect a reply from a puppet from bellary issue. Cheap minister is only name sake chief minister on Bellary Issue. All he can do is cry in front of the media like a small child. In karnataka's history we have never seen such a weak and puppet chief minister.

It is very unfortunate that our karnataka have PURE CONGRESS MAN governor. Actually governor should be non political and impartial attitude. But Mr Bharadwaj since his inception as governor he joined his hand with opposition party and him self he said that he is proud to say that he is congressman. As a public it is difficult to digest his "words"Ï am proud to be Congress man"
