July 10: Dakshina Kannada reports 218 new cases, Udupi 96; ten deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, July 10: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, July 10 reported 218 new coronavirus cases and nine deaths, while Udupi reported 96 fresh cases and one death.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 11,23,422 samples have been tested so far.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 95,229 out of which 2,295 are currently active. The positivity rate of district is 2.69%.

As many as 320 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.

The district recorded nine deaths due to coronavirus on Friday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1308.

With cases steadily increasing, the district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 96,19,767 as fine in 79,654 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 7,09,413 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 96 new cases were reported on Friday, taking the total number of cases to 67,515 out of which 902 are currently active.

A total of 96 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday.

Coronavirus has claimed 401 lives in the district so far, including one on Friday.

Till now, 4,41,347 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 1,44,601 have received the second dose.
