Karnataka resumes bus services to Kerala, passengers to follow strict guidelines

Bengaluru, July 12 (IANS): Despite the higher number of Covid-19 cases reported along with the Zika virus scare in neighbouring Kerala, the Karnataka government is resuming bus services to the state from Monday.

Passengers will have to carry a negative RT-PCR test report obtained within 72 hours prior to travel or a vaccination certificate of having received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as per the guidelines of the Karnataka government.

Students, businessmen, among others who travel on a daily basis to the state from Kerala should get tested every 15 days and must carry the RT-PCR report along with them.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will operate buses from Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Putturu and other places based on the requirement.

The KSRTC in a press release said this decision has been taken for the convenience of the people. The KSRTC had stopped inter-state bus services due to the lockdown.

it is better if KSRTC (KN) shelves this plan until the pandemic is truly over in KL. couple of days earlier, PM expressed concerns about covid figures of Karela, not to speak of the credibility of the figures (under) reported... at any point of time some or other virus creating havoc in KL...covid, chicken gunya, delta and now zaika....

Kasargod Mangalore buses used to be a pleasure to travel in good old days when I was in India . Panoramic views is there at payangady, bandiyod etc , sometimes when I is travelling in greyhound buses here in Toronto Yonge-Dondas to Mississauga and Niagara Falls it reminds me good old days! We used to have fun and try to travel without tickets and pretending to be asleep when TC comes, sometimes cleaner used to abuse us etc, what nice times, sometimes I do it here also and many times escaping also hehehe but few times TC is asking me if I have corner shop or living off benefits in Scarborough . These days I am avoiding these things due to my visa issues .Anyways nowadays I hear it is buses getting very crowded in kasargod and anti socials fellows also getting into buses, pickpocketing etc. with corona issue there, crowding is also a problems. Too much crowding and some people is flatulenting also in the buses . Authorities must take strong action to prevent crowding and also detect fake RTPCR reports being used to travel . I fondly remember kasargod and Mangalore and once my visa issue is settled here hopefully I can visit back on my genuine passport and see India progress . People must take care and avoid 3rd wave of corona in India, authorities must be strict and everybody be safe , God bless

This isn't a good move by the karnataka BJP government, the inflation rate of the virus is very high in Kerala and the bus service will probably increase the spread of inflation. Bus service KSRTC will transport 1000s of people everyday and will be like a vector, government must limit movement of citizens unless it is for important things like farmers protest against laws that help them. It has been proven by studies that virus doesn't spread inflation during farmers protests. On the other hand 1000s of people commuting by bus will spread virus as mobile phones with no antivirus is mostly used by icchamar who travel to mangalore to oogle at birds and download questionable videos on the way back.
