Kasargod, Jul 13: Bhandary Swagath Ranveerchand took charge as the district collector (DC) of the district on Tuesday July 13.
Ranveerchand, who is the first woman DC of the district, was welcomed with flower bouquet at the auditorium of DC office by the outgoing DC Dr D Sajith Babu.
By exchanging files, Dr D Sajith Babu handed over the charge formally to Ranveerchand. Bhandary is the 24th DC of the district.
Additional district bailiff A K Ramachandran, deputy DC D R Meghashree, revenue officer of the district Athul Swaminathan were present.
Bhandary, who is of Maharashtra origin, was serving as the director of commerce department. Dr D Sajith Babu is transferred as the director of Civil Supplies. After assuming charge, Bhandary Swagath said that she will give topmost priority to Covid control.
