Mangaluru: Omni smashes into parked vehicle at Bikarnakatte

Mangaluru, Jul 25: An Omni car smashed into a parked vehicle at Soujanya Lane, Bikarnakatte here.

The complainant, Kausar Shamsuddin, had her car parked outside her compound. An Omni bearing registration number KA 19 ME 3822 that was allegedly moving at a high speed rammed into the parked car and damaged the front portion.

The Omni too was completely mangled due to the collision.

The complainant and her family rushed to the spot and saw that the three occupants of the Omni were injured and shifted them to a private hospital.

The Omni was being driven by Pavan Shetty. In the FIR, it has been alleged that rash driving and negligence by Pavan caused the accident.

Though no case related to drunken driving has been filed, the compalinant alleged that the occupants in the Omni were in a 'drunken state' and one of them was 'unconscious'. "They drove their car rashly and in a negligent manner and collided with our parked vehicle. In their unconsious state they claimed that we were driving the car and collided into their Omni, but our car was parked."

Mangaluru south police station have registered a case under IPC sections 279 and 337.
